Photojournalist and recent World Press Photo winner, he has been publish in the most prestigious newspapers (NYT, Le Monde etc.). He is a 32 yo Spanish freelancer, and has he said when he got the phone call telling him he won the World Press, he is struggling to pay his rent.
An other guy taking risks to report the news, and making no money whatsoever. Surely news don't come from Fox or Sky, a journalist in a bullet proof vest with loud noises behind is not information. Lately everything really insightful I've read or seen was from reckless photographers going hardcore at putting themselves at risk. Maybe it's time the industry of information finds a way to remunerate those people correctly?
